Plain English Summary

What is Eswatini Hits?

Eswatini Hits is the Kingdom of Eswatini’s full music platform (website + Android app + Artist Portal), where you can:

• Discover charts (with movement indicators), albums, videos, genres, playlists, and upcoming releases
• Stream music after you create a free account and sign in
• Read time-synced lyrics that scroll along with the song in the player
• Identify a song by recording a short clip of its audio
• Get recommendations based on your listening, and see your own listening stats and Year in Review
• Download music for offline listening in the Android app when you have an active listener subscription
• Support artists through ads and subscriptions
• Follow artists, build a library, and connect with friends on the platform
• Read Articles covering news and stories from Eswatini

Browsing is open to everyone. Playing audio requires a signed-in account. Some features may show ads (including audio ads). Offline downloads are not free for every account, and seeking through a song (or tapping a lyric line to jump) is a subscriber feature.

Uploading Music

When you upload music to Eswatini Hits:

• You confirm you own the master recording or have permission to upload it
• You allow Eswatini Hits to stream, download, and promote your song
• You keep ownership of your music

Eswatini Hits only deals with master recording royalties.

The Artist Portal gives you the tools around that upload: full metadata, main, featured, and unregistered credits with splits, cover art, lyrics and lyric-sync requests, music videos, scheduled release dates on paid plans, moderation status, and analytics covering streams, unique listeners, downloads, followers, and listener geography.

Publishing Royalties

• Songwriter and publishing royalties are not paid by Eswatini Hits
• You must collect publishing royalties yourself through organizations like SAMRO

How Artists Get Paid (Simple Explanation)

Money paid to artists comes from a royalty pool, which is funded by:

• Advertisements (including audio ads)
• User subscriptions

Artists only earn from this pool if their song reaches:

• 1,000 streams, and
• 500 downloads

Both conditions must be met.

Points System

To calculate earnings:

• 1 stream = 1 point
• 1 download = 5 points

Your song's points are compared with other eligible songs. If your song has more points than others, you get a bigger share of the royalty pool.

Payments

• Payments are made every 3 months (quarterly)
• Streams and downloads are counted only once
• Paid or promotional activity is not paid again
• Eswatini Hits does not guarantee income

Fraud & Fake Activity

Do not:

• Buy streams or downloads
• Use bots or fake accounts
• Ask people to stream repeatedly just to earn money

If fraud is detected:

• Earnings may be removed
• Your account may be suspended or banned
